We are in ROME! Who doesn’t dream of visiting one of the greatest cities in the world? The home of SO much history! The only downside of visiting Rome is that we only had one day in this amazing city and we needed at least one month to do the city justice. The amount of things to do and see is so overwhelming that it is hard to know where to begin. Once again we booked our excursions separate from the cruise line. One of the biggest advantages to this was that the excursions are flexible. When the guide picked us up at the port, he gave us the highlights of Rome and asked us what things were the most important for us to see. He also informed us that Rome is full of biblical history and inquired what are interests were. We were able to customize the tour to see things that we were interested in and not just set visits pre-programmed on a tour. Once again, we booked our tours through Rome Driving Tours at www.romedrivingtours.com.

This was a LONG day! We packed as much in our day as humanly possible, this was not a day of leisurely sightseeing but an action packed day, rushing from one site to the next to see as much of the sites as possible in the short time available to us.

We drove past many sites that we did not get out and explore but were able to get out and explore the Colosseum, the Basilica of St. Paul, the Trevi fountain, the Pantheon, and of course the Vatican City which includes the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican museums, St. Peters Basilica, and St. Peters Square.

Words cannot really describe some of the views and architecture that we viewed. I hope that a visit to this amazing city is on everyone’s bucket list.
