In a recent post, we shared that we started the Keto diet. We also promised to share some suggestions to help you get started on your own Keto journey.
Let’s start out by saying, “You can do this”! Your life matters.
When starting any diet, the struggle for most of us is not, what kind of lettuce to make our salad with or whether to have steak or chicken for dinner. The struggle is with snacks, desserts and other items we can grab and go. Here are a few things we keep on-hand to help us get through the week:
- Cheese: Sticks, cubes, slices and wraps (these wraps are great!)
- Cheese Crisps: These not only make great snacks but you can use them in place of croutons on your salad or crush them up for an alternative to breadcrumbs
- Pork rinds
- Meat sticks (make sure they do not have added sugar or MSG)
- Nuts: Almonds and walnuts
- Hard-boiled eggs
- Fresh-cut vegetables
For those of us (like me) who have to have a chocolate fix, my go-to is a chocolate bar from Equal Exchange. Another option is Lilys.
