The Norwegian Spirit made two stops in Greece on this cruise. The first stop was in Athens, Greece. This city is so full of history it is overwhelming.
We stopped at Mars Hill where Paul once preached the gospel, we visited the Acropolis, the Parthenon, and the Temple of Zeus. We took an electric bike tour thru the city, where we stopped for lunch at an outdoor cafe. We experienced some Greek cuisine in a wonderful atmosphere.

When we originally booked on the cruise line we were told to stay with the ship excursions and not to venture out on our own. After extensive research and looking at the fact that the excursions through the ship were limited and expensive, we made the decision to book excursions independently through reputable companies that came highly recommended. We choose to book an excursion for an electric bike tour thru Tours by Locals (Phone # +1.866.844.6783). Our guide’s name was Chantel. It was very reasonably priced and the tour guide met us at our port and provided transportation to the bike shop and back to the port. It was a very smooth transaction in every aspect and Chantel was very fun and informative and gave us a great day in Athens.
The second stop in Greece on the itinerary of the Spirit was to Mykonos, Greece. I have to say this was one of our family’s favorite stops. It is a quaint little island that has a lot of charm. We visited a bakery that had been in the family for generations and they had amazing baked goods, we did some shopping and we booked quads for 4 hours and explored the island. visiting a private beach and seeing some amazing views!

We returned to the waterfront and ate at an outside cafe and did some more shopping along the waterfront before returning to the ship. Overall I was very impressed with Greece and would love to return and visit other parts of this amazing country. Bon Voyage! Oh wait! Is that French? Oh well, Italy here we come again!
